| tekst=In 1967 lijken er vergevorderde plannen te zijn voor het vestigen van een dorpshuis in het pand Veerstraat 2 (de voormalige hervormde pastorie) in Nieuwland, maar dat duurt nog even. In december 1972 wordt de eerste steen gelegd en op zaterdag 29 september 1973 wordt het dorpshuis annex gymnastieklokaal eindelijk in gebruik genomen. In het dorpshuis werden en worden verschillende bijeenkomsten gehouden, zoals vergaderingen, recepties, bruiloften en partijen. Men besloot in 2010 tot naamsverandering - sindsdien heet het dorpshuis ''Durps uus op d'n oek''. <br />
