Engelse kerk (Simpelhuisstraat 10) [4], een eenbeukige kerk met driezijdige sluiting en aan de straatzijde een laat-gotische ingang, werd in 1480 gebouwd als kapel van het in 1471 gestichte cellebroedersklooster. Na de alteratie van 1574 werd de kapel in 1592 ingericht als tapijtweverij van Jan de Maecht. In 1629 kwam de kapel in gebruik als Engelse kerk, met een toegang in het koor. De Engelse gemeente werd in 1921 opgeheven. Bij de restauratie in 1955 verdween de koortoegang, herstelde men de in de 17de eeuw dichtgemetselde ingang met kielboog en kruisbloem en reconstrueerde men de vensters aan de straatzijde. Het gebouw heeft enige tijd dienst gedaan als Waalse kerk - ter vervanging van een in 1940 verwoeste kerk - en dient momenteel als trouwkerk van de Herv. gemeente. Tot de inventaris behoren een midden-17de-eeuwse preekstoel, een orgelgalerij met Lodewijk XV-details en een door George Stevens gebouwd orgel (1761). Van het grotendeels afgebroken cellebroederklooster resteren enkele 16de-eeuwse gebouwen aan de Simpelhuis- en Wijngaardstraat, waarvan een met een laat-gotische schouw.
